This book describes the period between 1953, when a landslide closed the Victorian Railways Ferntree Gully to Gembrook 2′ 6″ gauge branch, through to 1962 when the Puffing Billy Preservation Society reopened the Belgrave to Menzies Creek section. The “Young Sun” specials, the rebuilding of Belgrave station and the line to Menzies Creek are well covered, and there are many photos of the return to service.
